Royal Arsenal Riverside, Woolwich

TEC have been working alongside Berkeley Home East Thames Ltd since 2015, providing geoenvironmental and geotechnical services to assist in the development of the Royal Arsenal site in Woolwich. Formerly one of the UK’s largest munitions factories and a coal fired power station, this major regeneration project is creating a new residential district in Woolwich with the construction of over 5,000 homes alongside new parks, leisure facilities and retail/ employment space. The history of the site has presented a number of geotechnical challenges and contamination issues along the way. TEC have worked alongside Berkely Home East Thames and all the design team on a number of phases of the development, from desk study all the way through to verification. Seeing the development progress over the years has made this project one of our most rewarding.
